How to Control Which Emails Your Team Members Receive in Homeroom (Organizers)
Homeroom makes it easy to manage what email and text notifications each team member receives—so the right people stay informed, without overwhelming everyone’s inbox.
This is especially useful if you have staff members with different responsibilities, or if you want only one person to receive key alerts.
Where notification settings live
Notification settings are managed per team member in your school’s Setup area.
To get there:
- Go to Setup
- Click the Team tab
- Find the team member you want to update
- Click the pencil icon under the Notifications column
This opens the Notification settings modal for that person.

Notification options you can choose
When you open a team member’s Notification settings, you’ll see three options:
1) All notifications
Choose this if the team member should receive all Homeroom emails and alerts.
This is common for:
- Program directors
- Primary Homeroom operator
2) Specific notifications
Choose this if you want to subscribe the team member only to certain categories.
When selected, you can check any of the following:

Important
Notifications that can’t be missed — at least one team member needs to be subscribed.

Messages
Manually composed messages sent using the Message button in Homeroom.

Billing & payment
Alerts about unpaid invoices or payment processing issues.

Compliance
Notifications related to provider compliance.

Discount requests
Sent when a family enrolls with a requestable discount.

Enrollment updates
Last-minute enrollments and student withdrawals.

Facility rentals
Requests to rent facilities.
This option is best when different team members own different workflows.
3) No notifications
Choose this if the team member should not receive any Homeroom emails.
This is common for:
- Staff who don’t need operational updates
- Seasonal helpers
- Parent volunteers
- Team members who only log in occasionally
⚠️ Important: Homeroom will display a warning if no team members are set to receive notifications. To avoid missing key updates, make sure at least one person receives Important notifications.

Best practices
Here are a few recommended setups:
- At least one Administrator should receive All notifications
- Finance staff should receive Billing & payment
- Enrollment staff should receive Enrollment updates
- Someone should always receive Important notifications
Saving changes
Once you’ve chosen the right notification settings:
- Click OK to save
- Repeat for any other team members as needed
