Providers: Registration Questions
How Do Registration Questions Work in Homeroom?
Homeroom gives providers the option to collect important information from families during registration. These registration questions help gather details like medical info, t-shirt sizes, or anything else needed to prepare for your activity.
Where to Add Registration Questions
You can manage registration questions for each activity individually:
- Click on the activity name from the 'Activities' tab
- Go to the Activity Information tab.
- Scroll down to the Registration Questions section to add, edit, or remove questions.
Each question can be customized based on how and when it should be asked.
Question Settings Explained
There are three ways you can set how and when your questions appear:
✅ Ask at Checkout + Required
- The strongest setting.
- Families must answer these questions in order to complete checkout.
- If left blank, they cannot complete payment or enroll.
🟡 Ask at Checkout Only
- The question appears during checkout, but answering is optional.
- Families can skip the question and still complete payment.
🔴 Required Only
- These questions do not appear at checkout.
- They will be sent to families via email 30 days before the class or camp begins.
- Families must log into Homeroom to complete the required questions.
- Enrollment is still processed even if unanswered initially, but they’ll be prompted to complete them before the class begins.
Best Practices
- Use Ask at Checkout + Required for questions you absolutely need before class begins (e.g., allergies, waivers).
- Use Required Only for info needed closer to the activity date (e.g., t-shirt size or emergency contacts).
- Avoid adding too many questions at checkout to keep the registration experience smooth.
