How can I turn on the Attendance Codes?
Under General info, scroll down to Attendance codes, and ensure the “Enable attendance codes” checkbox is checked.
Where can I see attendance codes?
Once the feature is enabled for a school, each contact that is associated with a student from that school will be automatically assigned a unique 6 digit code. Contacts include parent/guardian, emergency contact and any authorized pickup contacts. Codes are visible in the “Contacts” section of the student profile.

Can families see attendance codes?
Yes, they see attendance codes in the “Contacts” section of the student profile in their Homeroom account.
How can I access the code entry screen?
On the Schedule page, there is a button called “Family attendance page” that opens the code entry screen in a new window. This screen can also be accessed from General info.
What happens when a parent or guardian enters their code?
They will see a list of students that are eligible for check in or check out under that code, and will be able to check in or out those students. Only students that have an activity that’s currently taking place that day will appear.
How are codes used for attendance?
When a parent or guardian uses their code to check in or check out a student, the parent/guardian’s name and time will appear on the attendance record for that day.
What if a parent or guardian forgets their code?
Organizers can look up their codes in the “Contacts” section of the student profile. In the future, organizers and families will be able to easily send codes to via text message.
What happens if I remove an authorized contact?
Their code will be invalid.
Can families check in or out using their own devices?
No, not at this time. This feature was designed primarily for families to check in using a device provided by the school, such as a tablet.
I don’t see attendance codes for one or more students. What could be happening?
A student’s contacts will be assigned attendance codes once the student is enrolled in an activity at a school where attendance codes have been enabled.
It looks like one of my authorized pickups has a different code for each student in my family. What could be happening?
Check the spelling of their name and their phone number. If both name and phone number are the same, the contact will be assigned the same code for all students in the family.
