Organizer: How do I set up registration questions?

When families create a Homeroom account, they are asked basic questions about their student such  as  student details (Name, Age, School, Teacher, Grade), allergies/medical conditions, notes, and contacts (primary, emergency, authorized pickup(s). If you want to ask additional questions or collect more information, you can create custom registration questions. Some examples of questions that may be asked are:

  • T Shirt size
  • Years of experience 
  • Instruct families upload a signed waiver

There are two ways to add registration questions. At the season level and at the activity level. Adding a question at the season level means that regardless of the activity that the family has enrolled in, they will be asked those questions. If you add a question at the activity level, they would only be asked that question if they register for that activity. 

Season Level Registration Questions

  1. Go to the season tab and in the scheduled season click on registration questions
  2. Click on the edit icon in the top right-hand corner and then click on add question

    1. Title -  is where you will type in the question 
    2. Option -  is where you will select how families will respond
      1. Free text - an open field for parents to type in 
      2. Single choice - you will type in the options for families to choose from and they will be able to select one option
      3. Checkbox - families will check a box agreeing to the terms of the question
      4. File upload - families will be able to upload the requested file from the question.  (note: for ease of checkout, we recommend not making this a required field at checkout.)
      5. Ask at checkout - by checking this box, the question will be asked out checkout. Leaving it unchecked means that it will not be asked at checkout but families will be able to answer from their Homeroom account after they complete checkout.
      6. Required - checking this box means that the question is required for participation in the activity. If asked at checkout and required are checked- they are required to answer the question in order to checkout. If only required is checked - they will be sent a reminder to complete the question a month before the start of the season. 
    3. Advanced - This is where you can add a description to provide families with more information on the questions. There is also a supporting files field where you can add a file for families to download. For example is you want families to sign a waiver and upload back into Homeroom.
    4. If you want to add additional questions, click on add question to build those questions

Once all of you questions are entered, click save changes. 

Again, at the season level, any activities a family signs up for they will receive these questions.

Activity Level Questions

  1. In the seasons tab, scroll down to the activities section and click on the activity that needs a registration question. 
  2. In the activities detail section page scroll to the bottom and click on the edit icon in the top right-hand corner and then click on add question
