Setting your school fee

Some schools opt to include a school fee as part of the course cost. The fees may be collected for a variety of reasons, for instance towards fundraising for scholarships or towards paying a facilities fee. School fees are added on top of course fees set by the vendor.

NOTE: These fees are not required by Homeroom, they are determined by the schools' enrichment organizers.

Configuring a school fee:

  1. In Payment tools, go to the School Fees section and click on the edit icon. 
  2. Select a school fee option, set the amount and click Confirm.

School Fee Options:

The default value is "No fee" Other options include:

  • Percentage fee (per course) :
    • Note: Depending on the amount set by the vendor for course fees, the amount added for an admin fee is rounded up to the nearest whole dollar amount.
  • Flat Rate (per enrollment)

Be sure to also set up your Stripe account so the administrative fees can be paid out to your connected bank account.

Setting up Stripe

In the event your PTA/PTO decides to collect an admin or Donation fee, you will need to set up a stripe account. 

Please see the steps below to learn how to do so: 

  1. In the payment tools section, scroll down to Stripe information.Click Connect to Stripe
  2. Click Connect to Stripe
    1. *You will need to use a bank account with stripe. 

Continue going through the pages to complete the process. Connecting with Stripe allows you to securely receive payments from Homeroom. When families enroll in Homeroom, you will be able to automatically collect those funds securely and safely, right to your bank account. 

Donations

Parents are able to make donations to your school during their checkout process. As an organizer, you have the ability to turn this feature on or off. In the same menu you will also add in all of your schools information, please see below:

Donation Set up:

In the payment tools section scroll down to Donations and click on the edit icon.This is where you will be able to turn donations on or off as well as enter the Tax ID (EIN) code.

Once you have this feature turned on, your school is set to accept donations.
